What Cobra Kai is all about
The main characters of “Cobra Kai” are Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), who has been at odds with one another for more than 30 years since the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. Based on Robert Mark Kamen’s original “Karate Kid” motion pictures from the 1980s. Along with Macchio and Zabka, Martin Kove as John Kreese and Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver from the original movies have also returned in the series.

But unfortunately, Kreese is in jail, and Lawrence has put his karate aside to work on healing his earlier wounds, so LaRusso needs the help of an old buddy.
