Squid Game 2 won’t be available on Netflix in September

In an exciting turn of events, Netflix has given the green light for the second season of Squid Game, one of the most popular Korean dramas that have received unparalleled exponential fame and traction. However, a source told Variety, “This is merely the beginning of the Squid Gameworld.”

Ever since its release in September 2021, Squid Game has made Lee, its South Korean actor, one of the most popular actors in the world. It was even successful in having its own cult that is only increasing in number than anyone else’s.

There is no exact release date for Season 2 revealed as of yet, and as it has not commenced filming, it’s too early to anticipate. But one thing is for sure it’s not coming to Netflix in September.

Due to its demand and pressure for another season, Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of Squid Game, said he was left with “no option” but to continue with the sequel. He further added, “Yes, there will be a second season; I can confirm that. I’m thinking about that at the moment.” Based on this, we can infer that things are now in the planning stage as of yet.

It will take at least a year before we get to feel the thrill again.

The cast of Squid Game 2

Lee Jung-Jae would be repeating his role as Seung Gi-hun, the victor of the inaugural games, Hwang Dong-hyuk recently announced. The future of the other actors, aside from him, is yet unknown. However, we presume they won’t be unless a prequel or a sequel includes flashbacks.

Gi-hun returns, claims Netflix. Returning is The Front Man. Season 2 is on the way. Possibly back is the man with the ddakji and the outfit. Additionally, Cheol-su, Young-hee’s boyfriend, will be introduced.

It was mentioned by Hwang Jun-ho that he wouldn’t be back for a second season. However, according to Variety, Hwang is presently working on the movie KO Club, which is about generational conflicts.

Seong G-character hun’s Lee Jung-jae noted in an interview with the New York Times that “Gi-feelings hun’s may be highly muddled, so it’s hard to address this question without knowing more about the plot. He is an intriguing character. He could file a lawsuit against the game’s creators. He might also make an effort to discourage new gamers from joining. He could also try to rejoin the game. I don’t know what I don’t know right now.
