It is believed that everyone is blessed with some kind of explicit talent that comes to them naturally. Talent can be so innate that, at times, a person does not even have to think about it or make an effort regarding that specific skill. Music, having ancient roots, has always prevailed in human history for carrying a larger population off from their feet and connecting each other. Similarly, Atlanta Robertson, a natural-born artist, claims to express her innate talents.

She is currently well-known in the music and entertainment industries as DJ Atlanta, or ATL. In the South African DJ scene, her passion has allowed her to carve out a special place for herself. Atlanta was born in South Africa on September 26, 1996, and her musical path is a reflection of the devotion her grandfather Joe instilled in her at a young age. 

Atlanta’s grandfather influenced her to develop a connection to music while she was growing up in South Africa. Her musical journey began with her early years of active participation in choir and other activities. Later on, music became more than a form of entertainment; it transformed into a lifeline that saved her. Amidst her struggles, the dancefloor became a place where the troubles of the world could be momentarily forgotten, and she wanted to be able to provide that feeling for others. In primary school, the budding DJ started experimenting with music production, setting the foundation for her future career in the music industry.

In 2014, Atlanta joined Pioneer DJ School in order to refine her technical skills and gain knowledge regarding the world of DJing. Her relentless commitment to artistic quality led her to seek additional education in sound engineering, vocal studies, and music business in 2016. This solidified the groundwork for her rapidly developing profession.

Amidst many of DJ Atlanta’s skills is her capacity to mix an extensive range of genres, from house and techno to hip hop and R&B. She goes under the alias ATL and is an enthusiastic follower of underground electronic dance music, unambiguously techno and dub tech genres. This contrast empowers her to make a major transition between the mainstream and underground sectors with ease, which aids in her ability to carve out a unique place for herself in the industry.

DJ Atlanta, who is currently represented by Flipside Management in South Africa, has become a powerful force in the music industry. Her knowledge of techno, PSY, dub tech, hip hop, R&B, minimal, techno, hip hop/R&B, deep house, am piano, Afro tech, and urban house is evidence of her broad range of influences. Furthermore, to reach a wider audience and connect with fellow music enthusiasts, DJ ATL launched a YouTube and SoundCloud channel to serve as digital hubs where fans can immerse themselves in ATL’s carefully curated underground mixes.

DJ Atlanta has a stellar resume that includes appearances at well-known nightclubs and festivals all across South Africa. From Suncity Resort to H20 to Johannesburg Pride and many more, she has made an impression on a variety of audiences. Notably, Atlanta performed on stage on occasions like Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty beauty line launch, as well as black coffee’s “Come With Me Tour,” demonstrating her skillset. Atlanta is currently living in the United Arab Emirates as a resident DJ and spinning records at a five-star resort. She is constantly looking for new experiences and opportunities. Her ability to adapt to a variety of audiences is evident as she provides memorable musical experiences at VIP nightclubs, festivals, business gatherings, and luxury resorts.
