In the heart of Conyers, Rebecca Davis, owner and CEO of Platinum Wellness Spa, has turned a former building into a thriving wellness center. Davis has transformed a once-empty building in Conyers into Platinum Wellness Spa, a center that focuses on wellness and community. Her story is one of resilience, entrepreneurship, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting those around her.
Rebecca’s journey began far from Georgia. Rebecca Davis was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she navigated life in predominantly white communities. Her perspective shifted dramatically when she moved to Richmond, Virginia, for her senior year of high school. “Moving from a city that was 1% Black to the capital of the Confederacy was a wake-up call,” she recalls. “It taught me a lot about identity, resilience, and finding my voice.”
After high school, Rebecca attended James Madison University but left after one year due to financial constraints. Life quickly turned to survival mode: at 22, she became a single mother to her daughter Maiesha, navigating the challenges of an abusive relationship. Seeking safety and opportunity, she moved to Georgia, where she lived with her cousin and began building a foundation for her family’s future.
Rebecca’s path to entrepreneurship was shaped by years of hard work and a desire to create something meaningful. She earned her certification in medical assisting from Gwinnett College of Business and spent over a decade working in various physician offices. During this time, she expanded her family, welcoming two more children: Mykela, now a medical student, and Michael, pursuing his career in Denver.
In 2003, Rebecca met Don Davis, a former Physician Assistant turned entrepreneur. Together, they built a successful non-emergency medical transportation company that served clients across Georgia. By 2018, they sold the company and briefly retired, but the couple quickly realized that they weren’t meant to sit still.
In 2020, Rebecca and Don opened a mechanic shop in Conyers during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. While successful, the business was just the beginning of what would become Rebecca’s most ambitious and impactful project: Platinum Wellness Spa.
The building was renovated over 18 months and opened as Platinum Beauty Bar & Spa in December 2022. By 2024, the spa evolved into Platinum Wellness Spa, offering expanded services and a full wellness experience for both the body and mind. “Our mission is simple,” Rebecca says. “We create a space where everyone, regardless of background, can find rest, rejuvenation, and renewal.”
The spa employs a dedicated team, including technicians, marketing staff, and concierge services, to offer a wide range of services. The team works together to provide an extensive range of services, from facials and massages to holistic wellness therapies. Plans for the spa include expanding its offerings with an on-site restaurant, pool, and additional property to enhance the experience.
Rebecca’s vision goes beyond business success. Davis sees Platinum Wellness Spa as a platform for empowering individuals, especially women and entrepreneurs. “Wellness is about more than pampering,” she explains. “It’s about building confidence, restoring balance, and giving people the tools to thrive in every aspect of their lives.”
Her story is also a testament to resilience and adaptability. From her early struggles as a single mother to building multiple businesses and leading a wellness movement in Conyers, Rebecca has consistently turned challenges into opportunities.
In a region where small business owners often face steep hurdles, Rebecca Davis stands out not only for her entrepreneurial success but for her commitment to community impact. Through Platinum Wellness Spa, she has created a space where residents can prioritize their mental, physical, and emotional health, a gift that extends far beyond the spa walls.
Rebecca Davis has become a key figure in wellness in Conyers and the greater Atlanta area, using her business to inspire others.
