Groovy Boy on Becoming a Better Person, Working Toward a Better World with His Music

Music has been certified as a tool for evoking all types of emotions, and for many people, it has created an avenue for them to escape from their life challenges and worries. For Groovy Boy, born Daniel Armani Crawford, music saved his life and now, as he builds a career as a musician, he hopes to pay it forward by helping as many other people find a purpose for their lives using the power of music.

The New Jersey musician had lived and breathed music for as long as he can remember. As he explained, “Music has been there from day one. It saved my life, helped me suppress the pain until it was no longer there. Music became my source of escape and for every time. I tried to write and make music; the desire to become a better person in life felt strong. Music is like being in a different and better world for me.”

For Groovy Boy, making music is his way of creating his own crazy world and, thus, is an opportunity to turn all the pain in the world into love and rage. Groovy Boy leans heavily into the energy he projects through his music. He says his goal is not to stand out but just play a part in the healing that the world needs, which is achievable with music. “Whether I’m in the booth or on stage, I bring an energy that can’t be contained, and when that energy is felt, it becomes a release. I make people want to lose their minds, and I love it.

Groovy Boy’s music is targeted towards music lovers and people who enjoy storytelling through music. Being the type of musician who isn’t working on standing out of the crowd, he sees no one as competition. He firmly believes that the job of healing the world is neither a person’s nor a day’s job. So he expressed his openness in working with a wide range of artists to achieve a common goal. “I believe we are all on the same grind to get to a place where we are free to make the music we love just to heal and live. So I stop worrying about what makes me different; just the fact that I’m doing it helps me realize that everything I do is always going to be VERY Rare,” he said.

Groovy Boy’s motivation comes from the three words, “Rage, Love and Live On,” that have become his lifestyle. He wants his music to spread love, keep the peace, and get people to have fun. Despite coming from a difficult place, he has kept his head high and stayed through to himself enough to showcase his talents and personality to the world.

In a few years, Groovy Boy believes there will be a massive movement with different tribes spreading love and the feeling of freedom. He also hopes that people will accept his music and channel the feeling it evokes into making the world better.Learn more about Groovy Boy on his official Instagram page.
