While surrounded by bright lights, heart-pumping music, tequila shots, and laughter when he starts playing, Dj Chris Angel grew up with a challenging past.
Unlike many teenagers who focus their time and attention on learning and studying in school while going out and having fun with friends, Dj Chris Angel would spend most of his youth working. He started working at 14, watering plants at a local coffee shop. His income from working night and day barely helps him and his family survive. So later on, when he turned 16, he would juggle both high school and work. He then worked at a fast food joint while selling CDs at a music store.
While he had to endure tiring nights coming home from both work and school, he knew there was something he needed to do to change his life. So he started to save up his money which he then later used to buy music equipment and old records to start learning scratching. This is how Dj Chris Angel was born. A moniker created after someone likened him to magician, Chris Angel.
Today, Dj Chris Angel makes music for the world to enjoy. He believes that aside from making music to have fun, he wanted to empower his fans that you can overcome anything. He believes that through his story, he could show the world that anything is possible. A survivor and an underdog like him overcoming his past and now living his life making music only proves what he believes in.
Music saved Dj Chris Angel’s life and it has now become his reason for living, his way of life. He creates diverse music that his fans and listeners enjoy. He makes music with a unique style inspired by other music genres and describes it as “something you haven’t heard before”.
His fans are also very important to him. In fact, he was inspired by his fans and listeners to create tracks for them to dance to. This became a huge impact on his creative process that he actually created a song based on his fan’s name. At the end of the day, it’s his fans who keep him going.
In October, he released his new single “Rollin’” which became a hit among electronic music fans and listeners. He then followed another release called “The Stache Anthem” which is a tribute to the underdogs and a tribute track to the legend in the making, Bantamweight and Flyweight Champion, George Garcia.
Dj Chris Angel is looking forward to making more music and performing with other artists who he looks up to. With his story of overcoming challenges while empowering people, there is no surprise if he can capture the entire world with his music.
