It’s without a doubt the acting career of Jermaine Rivers is on the rise. The Atlanta based actor has been on fire lately as he’s established himself in the film industry as the “go-to guy” who can be cast in a multitude of roles. From action, to straight-laced dramas and even romantic comedies, Rivers has been a favorite among fans and quickly becoming a top choice among casting directors in Hollywood as well.
Over the last year Rivers has landed roles in both the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and DCEU, this fact alone should be enough to dispel any doubt that he’s the guy to watch. In fact, his career has been on an upward trajectory since appearing in popular network television shows such as “MacGyver,” “Dynasty,” Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and Have Nots” and “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.” Most comics enthusiasts will recognize him as Shatter from the hit series Marvel’s “The Gifted.” As a prominent member of the Mutant Underground, Jermaine wowed audiences with his portrayal of Shatter; from his comic accurate appearance, his undeniable acting chops and demonstrating remarkable athleticism by performing all of his own stunts.
This time around, Jermaine Rivers is set to join the cast of the Netflix romantic drama series “Sweet Magnolias” for the show’s third season, which is expected to return in the Spring of 2023. Sweet Magnolias premiered on Netflix in May 2020. The show is based on the popular Sweet Magnolias novels by Sherryl Woods. Rivers has been cast in a recurring role as “Charles Perkins” which is an exciting development for the show and the actor’s rising career. Unfortunately, there is not much information available to the public regarding his character, so fans will have to wait in feverish anticipation until season three premiers next Spring.
Fans will be able to see Jermaine this fall as he appears in his first DCEU film, “Black Adam,” starring Dwayne Johnson. The film is set to be released in theaters on 21 October. Although Black Adam is expected to break records at the box office, one thing’s for sure: Jermaine Rivers will definitely bring his A-game in this film, which is something that fans have come to know and love about the passionate actor. Rivers’ upcoming films that are set to be released in 2023 are: “A Party to Die For” a suspense thriller produced by (MarVista Entertainment) and “Freedom’s Path” a Civil War era film directed by Brett Smith.
