Dr. Kiki Ramsey is no stranger to adversity. Growing up in the projects of South Carolina, she faced monumental challenges that could have easily derailed her future. Her childhood was marred by her mother’s addiction to crack cocaine, creating an unstable and often tumultuous home environment. As if these challenges weren’t enough, Dr. Kiki herself became a teenage mother, a situation that statistically decreases the likelihood of educational and professional success.
Despite these overwhelming trials, Dr. Kiki’s narrative underscores the strength of the human spirit, highlighting the importance of resilience, determination, and a profound sense of purpose. “I knew there was more for me,” she recalls, reflecting on the inner conviction that kept her moving forward through the darkest times. This deeply rooted belief in her potential and purpose helped her overcome these obstacles and empowered her to thrive against all odds.
Transforming Pain into Purpose
Understanding that her life had a greater purpose, Dr. Kiki promised herself that no matter what, she was going to succeed.
Her journey began with helping her mother overcome her addiction, a personal experience that triggered her passion for empowering women to navigate their own life challenges. Witnessing the transformative power of emotional and psychological support firsthand, she pursued higher education, earning a Ph.D. in Business Psychology — she is the first PhD in her family.
Now a Positive Psychologist, Executive Coach, Speaker, and Author, Dr. Kiki channels her life experiences into her work, helping other women cultivate courage, resilience, and happiness. She has developed various programs and workshops centered around mental health, personal development, and leadership skills.
Dr. Kiki has been featured in several prominent media outlets, sharing her insights on how to build a meaningful and purpose-driven life. She collaborates with organizations to promote inclusive and supportive environments through her consultancy, enabling women to thrive both personally and professionally.
The Philosophy of Success Ingrained in Her Coaching Style
For Dr. Kiki, success is more than just achieving goals. “Success is a mindset; happiness is a choice,” she often says. Throughout her career, she has emphasized the importance of finding harmony rather than balance in life. “Trying to juggle a PhD, run two businesses, and raise a family taught me that balance is a myth. We need harmony to truly succeed.”
When it comes to her coaching style, Dr. Kiki offers a unique blend of positive psychology and action. She understands that every individual’s path to success is different, which is why she offers a mix of group coaching and personalized courses. “Mindset is everything,” she asserts, “and effective strategies are at the core of my coaching programs.”
Leading with Positivity and Inclusivity
In addition to her professional development company, Dr. Kiki is the founder of the Positive Psychology Coaching and Diversity Institute (PPCaDI), a leadership development firm based in Atlanta that specializes in diversity and leadership coaching and training. With her background in business, DEI, and positive psychology, she helps leaders and organizations create inclusive and happy work cultures.
With her love for her craft and initiative to lead positive change, Dr. Kiki has been honored twice as one of Georgia’s Top 50 Women Leaders in 2023 and 2024, proof of her impactful work and dedication. She also leverages her podcast, The Dr. Kiki Ramsey Show, and her book, Get Courageous Now, to spread a bright outlook in life.
Whether through motivational speaking, her Thrive Society membership community, or her books, her mission remains the same—to provide women with the tools and support they need to create the life they wish for.
Inspiring Women to Find Their Purpose
Dr. Kiki’s journey serves as an inspiration to women leaders, aspiring psychologists, motivational speakers, and all women in general. Through her own experiences, she demonstrates how personal hardships can be transformed into a powerful source of strength and purpose. “I want to show women that no matter where you start, you can achieve greatness,” she advocates.
