Linda Washington: A Beacon of Inspiration for Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors

The unpredictable nature of life can be wonderful and exciting. But at the same time, it can be equally terrifying. Unexpected things can happen at any time that could drastically change someone’s life. For Linda Washington, her life turned upside down upon hearing one of the most devastating news a person can receive: she had cancer of the breast.

After an exhausting, arduous, and downright painful battle with the big C, the brave mom of four emerged victorious. Having beaten the illness, she remained optimistic that her life would go back to normal, and so she took another chance on love. Unfortunately, she had her heart and spirit broken again when she shared her history of breast cancer with the wrong person. She was degraded, dismissed, and was told that she was no longer a real woman and that nobody would want her anymore. The impact of this emotional abuse is so severe that until now, ten years after, she has not attempted to go back to dating.

Not wanting anyone else to suffer the same experience, she resolved to become the voice of encouragement for breast cancer patients and survivors. By creating remarkable and meaningful works of art, she aims to remind these women that there is more to their identities than being reduced down to the belittling breast cancer tag. Now living in Springfield Massachusetts, working in the health field, she continues to champion her advocacy and share her message of love and comfort.

Being gifted with words, she wrote the book Forbidden And Broken Finding Love Behind The Scars. It chronicles her heartwarming and inspiring journey, from a radiant life full of joy before treatment up until her post-treatment life of rejection and empty sympathetic looks. Initially published in 2018, the biography recently launched a kindle version on Amazon.

She is also a singer-songwriter and has released a few tracks over the years, including Love Again and Missing You. Her most recent single called Need Love features the talented musician Superstar Lamar. In the song’s lyrics, she has skillfully embedded her feelings for everyone who has fought and is still fighting against breast cancer. Through her music, she aims to project and permeate love into the hearts of breast cancer survivors.

Linda Washington is an excellent representation for all breast cancer patients and survivors. She is a warrior and a fighter with an inspiring story, and her achievements are a testament that having cancer does not take away a person’s value and worth.

Ultimately, her goal is to help cancer survivors believe that they are still as significant as they were before their diagnoses. She remains steadfast in her mission to let breast cancer survivors know that they matter and deserve to be loved for who they are, not what they went through. In the future, she wishes to reach a wider audience and be able to make a lasting difference in the lives of women who have breast cancer.
