Millions of people live in rental residences in the State of Illinois. Therefore, it should not come as a surprise that several laws apply to renting, which both the tenants and landlords have to follow. It can be challenging to comprehend the various responsibilities and rights of each party involved. Many landlords are suspected of violating these laws even when they are acting within their rights; similarly, many tenants are unaware of the rights on their side of the ledger.

Tenants can feel that they have been wrongfully evicted, denied housing due to religion, ethnicity, and race, or forced to live on a property with damaged mold, windows, or faulty wiring that can cause them physical injury or damage. On the other hand, landlords, from time to time, need to manage occupants who harm their property, do not pay their lease on time, or decline to leave the property even when they are asked to for legitimate reasons. These disagreements can be resolved with the assistance of an experienced and skilled landlord-tenant and real estate attorney like Melvin L. Sims III.

Disputes between tenants and landlords can frequently occur throughout the term of a lease agreement or hold-over. If a landlord or tenant finds themselves entangled in a dispute, they can always rely on professional landlord-tenant attorneys like Sims.
