There are many reasons someone would want to pursue a professional career as a musician. Others strive to gain financial freedom while some seek fame, but there can be a handful of individuals looking to create a platform that can allow them to spread radiant happiness to the masses. Nihal ‘NEEZY’ Andrews is among the musically gifted to fall into the latter, using his voice to throw some sunshine into his listener’s lives.
Throughout his life, Nihal ‘NEEZY’ Andrews always held on to a single goal: to make people happy. He found that making music was the best way to achieve his goal and bet everything he had to make sure his dream would become a reality. “I found something that made myself happy that also made others happy when they listened to it,” shared the rising artist.
NEEZY was classically trained in music with five grades of ‘Theories of Musicianship’ through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in London, the United Kingdom. He takes great inspiration from musical greats like the legendary collective Earth, Wind, & Fire, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and Quincy Jones. Despite his training and pursuit of a music career, NEEZY does not consider himself as an artist. Rather, he refers to himself as someone who is constantly bridging a gap between the new and old generations.
Although he is currently based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, NEEZY’s upbringing was adventurous, having grown up all over the globe. It proved to be influential in his eventual pursuit of music, blending cultures to bring people together and unify them. Since then, he has been working to create a name for himself.
Recently, NEEZY has been putting all his efforts into recording a Christmas album, hoping to connect his generation with the timeless season of joy. The artist brought together a number of artists from various countries to represent in the album including musicians from Puerto Rico, Tanzania, Jamaica, Germany, Ireland, and India.
The bridge between two generations has been in the works on his Christmas album for almost two months after getting inspired by Grammy award-winning artist Ne-Yo reached out to him. The artist invited NEEZY to participate on his Christmas mixtape, giving him the idea to record his own version of a Christmas experience.
The Christmas album will be an amalgamation of some of NEEZY’s favorite sounds from the likes of A-HA and Silk Sonic. “This album has a very ’90s sound to it,” he revealed. The album will include tracks like “December 26th” and “So Far Away,” with “Letters from London” as the debut single. NEEZY reveals that the song is based on a true story when he was overseas and could not spend the winter holiday season with the love of his life, who was stateside. “Letters from London” will be a testimony of the pain and deep, heartfelt appreciation he has for his lover.
With his career off to a promising start, Nihal ‘NEEZY’ Andrews is optimistic about taking his career further by partnering with more artists globally to create collaborations that will impact his generation and leave a legacy in his name.
