Shemika Jackson Uses Experience to Expand Her Brand and Help People Who Are Suffering From Hair Loss

Throughout history, the subject of hair is vital to women and their self-esteem, seeing hair as a reflection of their identities. As a result, the hair and beauty sphere has grown to be a multi-billion-dollar industry not for vanity but because hair epitomizes an individual’s personality, thoughts, and beliefs and is a great way to boost confidence.

Shemika Jackson established Kafuné Amor Hair Care out of the need to feel confident, secure, and comfortable after being diagnosed with Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) that began when she entered her twenties. CCCA is the most common form of scarring alopecia on the scalp that will ultimately result in permanent hair loss, primarily affecting Black women at most.

After her devastating diagnosis, Shemika was left shattered because the thing that she took so much pride in and made her feel absolutely beautiful was just gone. To get her “pretty” back, she then began to look up ways to deal with her situation, eventually landing on the ideas of wigs and integrating them into her own hair with the use of customized units. In addition to her own will, Shemika tapped into her upbringing where her mother, a former cosmetology student, introduced her to her love for hair.

“My mom would bring home mannequins and start cutting and dyeing their hair,” Shemika fondly recalls. “After she was done with them, I would take over and style them as I would. That’s when I immediately knew that this was something I was destined to do.”

In next to no time, Shemika was feeling like her joyful self again, breaking into her circumstance and learning so much along the way. Realizing that many other Black women are severely affected by this condition, she was determined to use her newfound knowledge to help those like her.

In 2007, Shemika launched her first venture to help people dealing with hair loss conditions. Years later, in the latter half of 2019, she expanded her business and established Kafuné Amor Hair Care.

Now, Kafuné Amor Hair Care caters to a variety of women who wish to boost their confidence and flaunt their personalities through their lace wigs by offering a wide range of products that include lace front remover. The brand also has a proprietary lace front application and removal process that allows for extended wear along with hair preservation in which their products support the proper care of the lace fronts they sell.

Not only does Kafuné Amor Hair Care provide exceptional products and services, but they excel in connecting with women from all walks of life and offer them genuine, experience-based knowledge and information that will aid them as they live their best lives.

Ever since the establishment of her brand, Shemika has created over a hundred customized units for her clients, proving time and again that she is capable of advancing her life the way she wants to, even in the face of adversity.

In years to come, Shemika hopes to take her brand to new heights by expanding her lace wig production, and investing more in hair care. But, most of all, Shemika hopes to help more individuals suffering from every type of hair loss by providing them with safe and efficient solutions that will allow them to grow their hair back and regain their confidence.
