An orthopedic practice with roots in Atlanta has grown into one of the largest spine and orthopedic networks in the country. Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians, founded in 2013 by Dr. Armin Oskouei, now operates 63 locations across 18 states.

The organization has accelerated its growth significantly in recent years, opening more than 20 new clinics in the past 24 months. With over 100 specialists on staff and 60,000 patient visits annually, the practice continues to expand its national footprint while maintaining the patient-centered approach that has defined it since its founding.

A Vision from Atlanta

Dr. Oskouei, who is double board-certified in Interventional Spine and Anesthesiology, founded Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians after recognizing a gap in patient-centered spine care. His vision was to create a practice that combined personalized attention with advanced minimally invasive treatments.

“My goal was to create a practice where patients received the time and attention they deserved,” Dr. Oskouei explained. “We wanted to build a national spine and orthopedic brand that never lost sight of the individual patient.”

That vision has attracted more than 100 specialists to the organization and earned the trust of over 60,000 patients annually. The practice has established a reputation for delivering high-quality care while maintaining the personalized approach that defined it from the beginning.

Different from Hospital Groups

What distinguishes Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians from many hospital-affiliated orthopedic practices is its commitment to lower patient-to-provider ratios. The organization intentionally schedules fewer patients per physician, allowing more time for thorough evaluations.

“Typical hospital orthopedic groups focus on quantity instead of quality,” said Dr. Oskouei. “We take the opposite approach. Our scheduling allows providers to see fewer patients in a day, which leads to more thorough evaluations and better outcomes.”

This philosophy extends to treatment planning. Rather than applying standardized protocols, OSSP physicians design customized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific condition, activity level, and recovery goals.

“OSSP emphasizes seeing each patient as an individual rather than a number,” Dr. Oskouei noted. “Our doctors spend more time taking medical histories, performing exams, and understanding the patient’s goals and lifestyle.”

This approach has contributed to consistently high patient satisfaction ratings across the organization’s locations.

Comprehensive Capabilities

Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians offers a full range of orthopedic services. The organization provides interventional spine treatments, including targeted injections and state-of-the-art orthopedic spine surgeries using minimally invasive techniques, as well as extremity procedures for sports medicine patients.

The practice also operates more than 50 MRI machines across its network, enabling rapid diagnosis and coordinated care from imaging through recovery.

“We bring together orthopedic surgeons, spine specialists, rehabilitation professionals, and advanced diagnostic services within an integrated care model,” Dr. Oskouei explained. “This allows us to manage everything from imaging and evaluation to surgery, therapy, and recovery.”

Sports Medicine Reputation

The organization has built strong credibility in sports medicine. Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians has affiliations with professional sports teams and regularly treats both active and retired professional athletes. The practice serves athletes of all ages, as well as workers’ compensation patients and general orthopedic cases.

“OSSP has had affiliations with professional sports teams and serves athletes of all ages,” said Dr. Oskouei. “We still treat active and retired professional athletes on a regular basis from these affiliations and reputation in the sports medicine space.”

Commitment to Innovation

The organization prioritizes staying current with advances in orthopedic medicine. OSSP works continuously to remain on the cutting edge of spine and orthopedic procedures through research and physician expertise.

“We are constantly exploring new options to provide our patients with the best outcomes possible,” Dr. Oskouei stated.

Continued Growth

Looking ahead, Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians has set a goal of reaching 100 or more locations. The organization remains privately owned and committed to the values that have driven its growth.

“Every new location we open is an opportunity to bring patient-centered care to a community that needs it,” Dr. Oskouei stated.
