When Mark Moore Jr., the senior leader of Spirit & Truth Church Inc., adopted the humanitarian phrase, “We are the hands and feet of Jesus,” perhaps he comprehended the magnitude of a hands-on approach in reaching out to the troubled souls of the community. His relentless passion for community service has seen the church’s community outreach team establish marvelous initiatives that strengthen the threads of humanity.

Under Moore Jr.’s leadership, Spirit & Truth has shown unwavering commitment to the community. Implementing a robust strategy, the church has fed over 20,000 individuals through its weekly food pantry, providing a needed lifeline for many. Spirit & Truth also recognized the importance of dignity and self-esteem, partnering with a local women’s shelter to launch a clothing boutique offering new or barely-used clothes and accessories.

As if this were not enough, Moore and his team’s love overflowed into the realm of child care. They extended monetary gifts to a local children’s hospital, embodying the word of Jesus to let the little children come. They also orchestrated the adoption of over ten apartment communities, extending a helping hand through clean-up days and career and financial support opportunities.

In late November, this relentless commitment to the local community saw Moore and his outreach team join forces with BCM Georgia, an organization renowned for extensive community work. This partnership aimed at addressing the pressing issue of housing loss amongst working families, often exacerbated during the financially tight holiday season. With the noble initiative of Giving Tuesday, they proposed to funnel $2,000 to thirty-two deserving families while the overflow will be distributed as additional supplementary support. Remarkably, BCM Georgia identified the need to prioritize the Spirit & Truth congregation members for this initiative.

Moore, who has welcomed 1,200 new members over the last thirteen months, saw this emphasis on giving as a cornerstone of their culture. “While other organizations are asking the public to give to them, we wanted to do something different and be the ones giving to those in need,” Moore expressed. His vision transcends the laws of reciprocity, shining a light on proactively being a blessing to others as God has blessed the church.

The partnership with BCM Georgia for Giving Tuesday undoubtedly strengthens Spirit and Truth’s position as a beacon of support and hope in the city of Atlanta and well beyond its borders. It’s a reaffirmation that together, more can be accomplished, and more souls can find hope, stability, and warmth.

Under Pastor Mark Moore Jr.’s leadership, Spirit & Truth Church Inc manifests the true essence of Christian love, giving, and service. The church stands as an embodiment of the principle that faith without works is dead. And as Moore Jr. reiterates, “We have work to do – we are the hands and feet of Jesus.” Truly, Spirit and Truth are doing the work, and many lives are transformed, hope is renewed, and communities are restored.

As they continue to spread their wings in the region, Spirit and Truth invite the public to learn more about their activities and partnerships. Not only to appreciate their work but perhaps find avenues for collaboration or simply draw inspiration to get to work to build the kingdom.
