Why Daniel Kivo Believes Administrative Excellence Is Underrated in Business Success

When highlighting breakout businesses and brands, news channels like to highlight the CEO or head of marketing. As a result, we’re often applauding the organization’s face or the one that makes the most noise. But it’s time that the administrative heroes that keep the business operating like a well-oiled machine get their share of the spotlight too. And Daniel Kivo personifies that kind of business executive.

Often unassuming and simple towards his approach to business and life, Daniel remains fundamental to the business success of many businesses that he has been a part of. He has over a decade of experience running business departments and taking on leadership roles in operations, recruitment, and administrative departments. And while he likes to remain behind the curtains, his work doesn’t go unnoticed.

Well studied, Daniel Kivo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California. He would later go on to complete a Masters of Science in Human Resources at Claremont Graduate University. From there, HR and recruitment would pretty much embody his life’s work. After graduation, he landed a job in the United States Navy in the Okinawa station as a human resource specialist. He would serve in that role from May 2010 to June 2014 before moving to Showdown Events Company.

In 2016, Daniel would work for Link Consulting, heading up the recruitment department and taking charge of interviewing, sourcing, referencing, and offering negotiations with new hires in medical and IT. In addition, he spent a year developing systems around screening, data analysis, and interview tactics for the company.

Later, Kivo would bring his talents to Ace Parking, heading up recruitment operations for Los Angeles and Orange County offices. He would develop and implement recruitment and hiring processes at Ace, establishing networks and contacts and developing databases and inventive job advertising tactics to reach hiring goals.

What makes Daniel Kivo remarkable is his organizational leadership skills. He has led teams with utmost efficiency and developed strong cultures. In this day where sophisticated marketing wins the short-term battle, organizations realize that its team culture and sound hiring and HR practices keep the business strong over the long term. Leaders like Daniel Kivo have mastered the art of trust-building, company alignment, idea harvesting, and internal team growth.

Daniel believes that good hiring practices are a necessary hard skill that strengthens the administrative backbone of any company. “When you hire right, you grow right,” he explains. And there’s a lot of truth to that. Strong human resource capabilities and administrative leadership are essential parts of business growth—and it’s about time that entrepreneurs started learning about that too.

Kivo continues to drive strategy and execution for talent management and sourcing practices at Ace Parking. His role has been pivotal to job creation in the company. He hopes to take his leadership capacity to the next level by developing his human resource management skills and developing better enterprise-wide talent management solutions. He also has started working extensively in project management and hopes to integrate that skill into his current workflow.

Artist-Entrepreneur Mikey Diaz Raises Funds for Upcoming Short Film to Showcase Black Lives

Despite how popular social media platforms are today, a lot of stories are still kept in the shadows. But Mikey Diaz wants to change that by being the voice for the voiceless and amplifying the narratives of people who have lived their lives with passion, integrity, and hard work. Currently raising funds for his project, Black Gold of the Sun, Mikey’s goal with the help of Choreographer Samuel Hill the 3rd is to shed light on the Black community and highlight their inspiring stories through the ages.

Mikey Diaz is a multitalented artist and entrepreneur who is expanding his empire through film, comics, clothing, music, and dance, bringing all these facets of art together under one umbrella seamlessly. In addition, Mikey strives to unite people from all walks of life, creating a community of unique individuals from different backgrounds, creeds, sexualities, colors, and religions.

Black Gold of the Sun is a short film that celebrates Black people and combines a documentary style approach through dance, spoken word, poetry, and music to tell stories of Black love, struggles, strength, beauty, and the future of Black lives. The project was sparked by his curiosity and hope that maybe our stories are never told by us for us and what happens when we start to do it. It all started with an artistic vision for harmony and innovative communication. Mikey wants Black Gold of the Sun to be one of the most innovative projects for amplifying the plight of Black lives across the globe. Mikey is currently fundraising through the short film.

In addition, Mikey has established a long term working relationship with silent partner and creative consultant Latasha Bell. Mikey and Tasha have collaborated ideas on multiple projects, this collaboration has transformed into a management company. The artist-entrepreneur built a recording studio with business partner Joshua Johnson that was established to unify artists in Texas and create a collective community where creative minds would feel safe and empowered to create something unique for the future.

Mikey Diaz carries a certain air of ease, allowing people to be open and transparent around him even at their first meeting. He is currently attending the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports, and Management on a full scholarship, where he is learning to become an entrepreneur while simultaneously nurturing his creative spirit. When asked why he chose to attend such an institution, Mikey shared that he wants to expand his entrepreneurial aspirations to help other artists who need empowerment, direction, and space to express themselves freely.

“I just want people to feel loved, seen, and heard,” Mikey Diaz explained. “That is what makes me separate from everyone. I do it for the love of the craft, not the money,” he added further.

Growing up listening to his father’s music, Mikey Diaz was exposed to many different genres and fostered his love for the craft. That sparked more passion within him to explore other forms of art. Eventually, Mikey found himself deeply invested in film, television, music, graphic novels, and comics. The artist aims to create timeless pieces of art that will impact not only the current generations but also to those who are yet to be born. Mikey wants to cement his name down in history through his works, passing down narratives from one generation to the next.

Asked who inspires him the most, Mikey Diaz shared that he is motivated and driven by the life of his sister (Tawanda Latasha Diaz), who recently passed away in July. “I had already been working on my brand, but after her death, I was motivated to not only launch my brand but also continue her legacy with her clothing brand as well, Chess Over Checkers,” Mikey explained.

In five years, Mikey Diaz wants to build his own company and become part of notable panels to mentor others about branding. To learn more about Mikey Diaz and his extraordinary ventures, visit his website.
